Anahi Meyer Riera
Art conservator & restorer
About me
I discovered my passion for conservation and restoration while I was studying Art History in my home town of Palma de Mallorca. In 2006 I completed my Bachelor's degree and moved to Barcelona with the aim of becoming a conservator. In 2009 I obtained my diploma as a Conservator-Restorer (with a specialization in the conservation of paintings). Through my subsequent work experience, I became interested in the world of art on paper more generally. In 2011 I had the opportunity to choose one city in the world to continue my education through the Portuguese government's INOV-Art training grant program: I decided to go to Brazil and pursue specialized training in the Conservation and Restoration of Works on Paper and Books at the Federal University of Minas Gerais. In 2012 I returned to Spain in order to continue my education and fulfill another of my dreams: expanding my career to encompass Contemporary Art. That year I completed my Master's degree in Contemporary Art Preservation at the Complutense University and the Museu Nacional Centro de Arte - Reina Sofia in Madrid. My final research project, entitled “Paper in Contemporary Art: The Impact of Humidification and Pressing” received a prize as one of the four best Master's projects of the year.
